Benetic operates a virtual model and carries out in house therapeutic programs by outsourcing components of its R&D.
Benitec's strategy is to select a small number of disease conditions which have high commercial potential and can be targeted using Benitec's gene silencing technology. Benitec plans to take these in-house therapeutic programs to proof of concept studies and PhaseI/II before licensing the therapeutics to pharma partners.
Additionally, Benitec is seeking immediate opportunities to leverage the potential for a wide range of therapeutics and is open to discussions with biotech or pharma companies concerning out-licensing or joint venture deals.
Benitec is also monetizing its ddRNAi technology in the form of research tools which are available through technology licensing.
